ParishSOFT keynoteParishSOFT announced today that Steve Hewitt, founder, and editor-in-chief of Christian Computing Magazine® will deliver the keynote address at the Nov. 8-10, 2010, ParishSOFT Users’ Conference: Church in the Digital Age in St. Petersburg, Florida.
An early pioneer in using computers and programs as a ministry tool, Hewitt had served as a pastor for 15 years before he answered the call to help Christian ministry by publishing the first articles and reviews on ministry-related technology in Christian Computing Magazine in 1989. He has been instrumental in the acceptance, adoption, and use of technology in Christian churches.
Hewitt’s mission has grown to include keeping ahead of the rapidly changing technology required for managing information in a church and reaching out to Christians.
Hewitt keynote, What’s Hot and What’s Coming for Technology and Ministry, will give Users’ Conference attendees new insight into the ways smart phones, netbooks, and cloud computing will change the way churches track information and communicate with people.
ParishSOFT president and CEO William Pressprich tapped Hewitt to speak at the conference because in addition to being well-known and highly respected in the Christian community, Hewitt’s message aligns nicely with the direction of ParishSOFT’s technology. “We’re already providing Web-based mobile access to church records in our ConnectNow product suite,” said Pressprich. “Our users have embraced the new technology, but hearing from Steve the full impact of what mobility means for the future of church ministry is sure to hit home with our users.”
