Ann Arbor, MI — ParishSOFT, the nation's fastest growing church management software company, announced today that the Episcopal Diocese of New York has selected ParishSOFT as its new technology platform. The ability of ParishSOFT products to maintain records in a common database at the diocesan level will help the Diocese streamline its computer systems; gather and maintain information about parishes, staff and volunteers; and provide improved support to parishes through higher data accuracy levels and better communication tools.
Maintaining two separate databases using Excel and Access has made it increasingly difficult and time-consuming to gather complete and accurate data, as well as keep track of staff and volunteer details. Consolidation of this information into a single, common database will save the staff valuable time during data entry and will make reporting much easier and more consistent.
In its search for a new software system, church leaders had three main objectives for this: First, to combine the two databases into one; second, to obtain new software that is accessible via the web; and third, to partner with a responsive, flexible software company that would be able to meet their needs now and into the future.
The selection of ParishSOFT was based on technical and functional software capabilities, as well as excellent support services at both the diocesan and parish levels. Once the ParishSOFT AIM suite of products and its Parish product suite are implemented, all information will reside in one common database. Updates to family information made at the parish level will be available immediately to diocesan staff—eliminating the need for repetitive data entry.
The Diocese is working with a team of ParishSOFT specialists on the project design and implementation plan, which will be followed by a phased rollout that includes standard and advanced data conversion, system implementation, enhanced software customizations, comprehensive product training, and technical support for each parish.
"We are very happy to be working with the ParishSOFT team," stated Christine Donovan, Bishop's Deputy Public Affairs. "They have been extremely responsive to us. Their understanding of our project goals -as well as the flexibility provided by the software and the project team- are tremendously helpful as we move forward."
ParishSOFT Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Mike Cusick, said, "Our partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of New York will bring a greater offering of church management technology and services to the Diocese, and its parishes. We look forward to supporting their ministries with unparalleled software and support."
