The increase in the annual appeal has two components:

1. better name and address information for known parishioners and
2. discovery of previously unknown parishioners.

ParishSOFT improves the annual appeal process in many ways, by providing:

1. Two-way, automatic data synchronization between arch/diocese, parishes, and other arch/diocesan organizations.  ParishSOFT Synchronization is used by 23 arch/dioceses.
2. Single “common” database at the arch/diocese with comprehensive family and member information as well as details for each organization; clergy, staff, and volunteers; and assignments. This database, known as ParishSOFT AIM, is in use in 52 arch/dioceses.
3. Diocesan Development Manager application (“DDM”), using the ParishSOFT AIM Database, is fully featured fundraising software for managing the annual appeal as well as arch/diocesan capital campaigns, including status reporting for each parish. DDM is used by 15 arch/dioceses.
4. Online Giving provides your arch/diocese with a custom website, which you can brand to have the same look and message as your annual appeal, where parishioners securely make online pledges and gifts. Online Giving provides convenience to your parishioners and a higher level of average gift for you.
5. Mailroom Solutions: Address Quality verifies the accuracy of names and addresses by comparing the ParishSOFT AIM Database with the U.S Postal Service's National Change of Address (NCOA) database.

ParishSOFT has analyzed results in detail for three of our arch/diocesan customers.  Results for other customers are expected to be similar, based on anecdotal evidence.  In particular, the results for the three arch/diocesan customers were as follows:

1. Discovered 20,000 additional family records not in the traditional, high-end fundraising database when compared to the ParishSOFT AIM Database synchronized with parishes.
2. In another diocese, sustained an increase in number of pledges by 15.3%, due to “found families” and more accurate addresses.
3. In the third diocese, increased giving to the annual appeal in by 19.3% in the first year due to a better process adopted as part of the installation of Diocesan Development Manager.

On average, these three arch/diocesan customers achieved a 16.7% overall increase in giving to the annual appeal on a sustained basis.
